Cinematographer/Director of Photography - Webb Pickersgill

There are times when a production simply needs a creative, effective, and experienced cinematographer or a director of photography. In these cases, usually all of the gear including the camera package, grip, lights, audio, etc are already being provided by the production. In these cases, Bassline Digital can simply provide the DP/Cinematography services to your production. What is the difference between a cinematographer and a DP?

Director of Photography: Directs the grip, lighting, and camera crew to "paint the frame" within the vision of the director. Typically, a DP will stay by the Video Village to monitor each take to ensure all departments are executing this plan to perfection.

Cinematographer: Directs the grip and lighting crew to "paint the frame" within the vision of the director. A Cinematographer will operate the camera, and is primarily responsible for executing the motions responsible for capturing the shot.
